The Indiana Economic Development CorporationThe Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is the state of Indiana's lead economic development agency. The IEDC was officially established by Governor Mitch Daniels in February 2005 to support economic development efforts in Indiana, replacing the former Indiana Department of Commerce. The IEDC is organized as a public-private partnership, governed by a 12-member board of directors chaired by Governor Daniels. The IEDC's chief mission is to grow and retain businesses in Indiana and to attract new businesses to the state, with a primary focus on transportation, distribution and logistics as well as advanced manufacturing, motorsports, agribusiness and life sciences.
